cmd/thwap-pagesd/main.go newDeployer builds the standalone deployer with cfg.Kubernetes.BaseDomain, so a standalone-mode daemon still reads its base domain from the kubernetes config section. Consider a dedicated standalone config value (ties to #338) or at least document the reuse.
